I've moved over to a new website-blog:

Similar to my old website URL but with my middle initial now; it's temporary as I wait patiently for my old domain to free up, then I'll change over again. It's still quite bare bones but I have a few galleries up, as well as a blog with a couple of posts. I'll continue to add photos as my internet connection allows. While I'll miss my Blogger blog like I miss Hawaii, I thought it was time for a change, and I love the simplified look and fairly easy navigation of the new site, as well as the fact that I have galleries again (I've always wanted to try horizontal scrolling). I'm dedicating a lot of this year to shooting for me, improving my craft, and if I can get a job or two, that's just the cherry on top. It's hard starting out in a new place and I've resigned myself to not stressing about it; with that said, I do think a cleaner presence on the web was necessary for me.

Would LOVE some feedback, so please let me know what you think, by commenting here or there :)

As evidenced by the last couple of posts, I've been into shooting very simple food set-ups. It's different but enjoyable, and not too far from what I've been doing lately (shooting objects that don't move!). Since I don't go to stores every day or have clients to photograph, this fills the void. No fancy dishes or complicated baked goods, though... I'm just not that talented, or patient, in the kitchen. I won't say never but for now I'm sticking to shooting fruits, veggies, and on the rare occasion, a meal or dessert (made at home, or out at a restaurant) if it's blog-worthy.

Hope you are having a nice, long Memorial Day holiday weekend. I am always grateful for the men and women who serve, and have served, in our Armed Forces -- including my hubby. :)

Mangoes were on sale at the commissary so I bought a bunch. I plan to make my favorite, easiest dessert ever -- mango bars -- this weekend (thanks to my friend Alisa for the recipe). Hope I don't end up eating all of the cut-up mango beforehand!

I shall grow my own mango tree someday...

My husband wanted to cook dinner tonight so he made shrimp étouffée. It was delicious. I'm not a good cook nor like it much (probably as a consequence) so I'm glad/fortunate he enjoys being in the kitchen, whipping something up.

The fam and I spent an hour getting lost -- literally -- in another antique store yesterday. Some of these places are huge; this one was 21,000 sq. ft. I specifically wanted to see some mid-century modern furniture but we got there as they were setting up the display, so I'm going back today to check it out. Happy Thursday!

Remember that show LOST? Unless you're a die-hard fan, you probably didn't realize that today is the one-year anniversary of the series finale. I admit, I'm slightly nerdy for remembering the significance of today, but then I've never really forgotten the show. As with any long-running series with a huge fanbase, some people disliked or were disappointed in how it all ended; I, for one, thought it was great -- fitting and true to what the producers intended (from what I gather reading interviews). I still get teary-eyed when I watch the last ten minutes.

These photos in my archives bring it all back. My kids and I hung out with other LOSTies the day of the finale at Kualoa Ranch, where many scenes from the show were filmed. More pics from that day, here.

I sure miss these mountains.

My friend, Laura, was a make-up artist on the show. She did me the best favor ever by having a tee signed by most of the major players. Next to my Domino collection, it's my most prized collectible.

To reminisce, I'll be watching a few episodes tonight. Pass the tissues, please.

What started out as a day of gray skies and light rain turned into this, on my first go of 17-Mile Drive. I can't say enough how inspiring the scenery is, it's simply unparalleled.

I also shot these trees in b/w medium format film and look forward to seeing how they turn out.

My FIL loves to tour college and university campuses in the cities and towns he and my MIL visit. When they were here last week, we drove over to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. These pics are in or just outside of Herrmann Hall, formerly the Hotel Del Monte (more pics here). We were fortunate to meet the school mascot on the lovely grounds outside.

Strolling through antique stores and malls is fast becoming a hobby of mine; it's relaxing, fun, and akin to going on a treasure hunt; even if I have nothing in mind to buy, it's nice to come across a find that says "take me home." Sometimes I like to pause and wonder what the story is behind a piece -- where it's been and who's owned it. The kids enjoy the stores too, and I consider it somewhat educational -- a field trip, if you will. A couple of weeks ago we stopped by the Halltree Antique Mall in old town Salinas and spent a few hours wandering around inside.

Mother's Day consisted of my fave Starbucks drink (delivered by hubby), choco chip and wildberry muffins baked by my daughter, an unexpected trip to the antique mall (hubby scored tons of coolness points that day), and early dinner and caramel apples on Cannery Row with my favorite people in the whole world.

Hope all you special moms out there enjoyed your day as much as I did mine.

I couldn't walk away empty-handed from the antique store, taking with me over a 100 photos (no surprise) and the cute cutting board on the right.

Some of my favorite places to visit are churches and places of worship. When I lived in Europe many, many years ago, we stopped at churches and religious points of interest in our travels, including the Vatican and Lourdes, France, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette. I was always fascinated with her story, and it was all brought back when my mother-in-law -- who made her 5th trip to Europe last December -- gave me a small bottle of holy water from the grotto at Lourdes.

But back to the pictures of this post... the San Juan Bautista Mission is the first of many that I hope to step foot in while we are in California. The grounds and surrounding town are enchanting and there's no shortage of things to shoot. I haven't done it justice (and never really will), which is why I'll be back.

After visiting the mission, we had a bite to eat at JJ's Burgers. My California burger (with jack cheese and avocado) was superb. I highly recommend their onion rings as well.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park

As you can imagine, this state park was a place for the senses... lots of texture, history, opportunity to reflect, and be in awe of Mother Nature.

What should have taken 45 minutes to walk through the shortest trail took more than 2 hours. The kids climbed over, through, and up probably every tree. It was a great day.

I wish I could do something similar. How fun. Monterey vs. ? Somehow does not have the same ring, but that's ok.

My husband mentioned a possible trip to Europe next summer. I've been thinking about it all day. Understandably. Going would bring back childhood memories, my fondest of which are living in Italy... learning Italian by watching the cartoons (sadly, it didn't stick), savoring the view from our hilltop apartment (oh, the adventures on the balcony my brothers and I would get into!), strolling down cobblestone streets, riding the train to Rome, and eating hot pizza slices in the afternoon. As I get older, I become more obsessed with seeing the photo albums my mom put together of all our travels; growing up I never believed that as an adult I'd want anything more than to leaf through our family albums again. My dad was a photographer (hobbyist) and quite good in my opinion. It's comforting to think that we shared a love of and for photography.

And now some images from my outings today. I'm starting to feel silly for posting displays... not necessarily of taking them (though I do feel silly trying to shoot out of sight of any salespeople). I guess I know that anyone can walk into the same store elsewhere and see the same things I do.

Today began uneventfully, with us starting out towards the Oakland area to pick up our vehicle, which had been shipped from Hawaii (it was stolen from a parking lot 10 days before we left the island. Does not make for a smooth move, I know). Somewhere on I-580 N, an orange car to our right tried to change into the lane we were in and missed us by literally inches... my husband, who was driving, swerved to the left to avoid impact with this car. We were in the third lane of a very busy highway (I'd just remarked to my husband yesterday how I hated that freeway, from driving it that day) and we ended up all the way in the first lane. My husband struggled to steer us back in control. We almost hit the divider on our left but didn't; we ended up crossing over the second lane and back into the third... and the whole time, no other cars where near enough to have hit us or us them. All I could think of were my kids in the back. I was scared to death but couldn't react... the experience of being in an out-of-control fast moving vehicle is surreal and it happened quickly, yet felt like time had stopped, seconds stretched into eternity, a slow-motion hell. My husband finally regained control of our vehicle and I believe only seconds had passed since we almost had a potentially bad accident. Keep in mind, we were going a little over 65, and again, there were no other cars in either of the two lanes to our left -- thankfully, thankfully. I can't imagine what could have happened otherwise; or if the orange car had hit us. We were very lucky.

After that I checked to see if everyone was ok, and other than jolting my older son awake from his nap, everyone was fine physically. No one was hurt, but all of us were obviously quite shook up. I still am. I keep replaying the scene in my mind. I held my 3yo tight when we finally made it back home. I know this might sound a tad dramatic but I've never been more grateful to be alive. For my family to be alive. We had to drive both vehicles home so you can imagine how alert I was in the driver's seat; I had a knot in my stomach the entire 2+ hr return trip, and just wished us to be home already. I'm probably not going to drive for a few days.

I never saw what happened to the other driver in the orange car but my husband said he thought she had raced far ahead after the near-collision.

Funny, my kids mentioned weeks ago that black cars were bad luck; first our black Jeep was stolen in Hawaii. Then after dinner out one evening shortly before moving here, my husband retrieved our black rental car and discovered a cracked rear window, which proceeded to break into little pieces as we drove back to our hotel (it was raining, too). Then, today happened. We currently have a black car. I'm starting to wonder if the kids are onto something.

These are pictures I took yesterday of the Poppy Store in Larkspur where I met Ulrica Wihlborg and attended her free workshop on how to take better pictures of your kids. Ulrica is so sweet and genuine, and I was really pleased to hear she shoots the majority of her work with a Contax. I learned a new thing or two, and got to see a pro at work as a bonus. She was photographing the owners of this delightful children's boutique prior to the start of the workshop, and since I had arrived early, I got to see Ulrica work her magic. Note: now on my wishlist, a Manfrotto tripod and Carl Zeiss 45mm for the Contax. (to which my husband would just laugh for several minutes before saying yeah right!)

I only shot off 13 frames as I had to rush back home, 2.5 hrs away. I regret not getting any of Ulrica either!

Today was a good day.

1. My kids received good marks from their teacher (she assigns the weekly work which they complete at home).
2. While waiting for my son and husband to finish school, I got an hour to roam in an amazing home furnishings store in Carmel-by-the-Sea where I took plenty of pics to satiate my interiors fix (will post those soon).
3. I ordered my first Dyson. As undomesticated as I am, I'm excited for it to be delivered so that I can finally clean floors that haven't been vacuumed in almost 3 weeks. I'd normally not be as motivated to clean except my mother-in-law is visiting next week.
4. My mother-in-law is visiting next week!
5. My kids cleaned their hamsters' cages today, which made me proud. They're being responsible pet owners. Oh, did I mention they got hamsters the other day? One is gray and white, named Pepper. The other is white, named Salt. They're cute as heck (especially when they roll around in their exercise balls) but are really loud at night.
6. Tomorrow the kids and I are day-tripping to the San Fran area... I hope. I'm planning to meet Ulrica Wihlborg, a photographer I worship. She shoots everything from interiors to kids to lifestyle. Her work is just stunning, and she shoots film.

Turns out it's hard not to when you have an irresistibly cute pastry shop (the Parker-Lusseau) beckoning you in for a mid-day treat, then a quick walk right after to Trader Joe's for fresh-cut flowers. These photos are actually from last April but never posted on my blog. The folks over at Fringe, a Paul Mitchell focus salon in Kailua, HI, asked me to shoot real live customers who were made over right on the spot. Such a fun day. I've been a loyal customer of theirs for 5 years, and love, love how Lisa (owner and very funny lady) made me feel beautiful. If you're in Hawaii and are looking for a stylist, I highly recommend Fringe! They also offer waxing and mani/pedis. As the grays start to appear, I am really wishing for a plane ticket back to Oahu for some malasadas and Fringe love.

The wildflowers are my favorite part of living here. I thought I was spoiled by living on the Windward side of Oahu with all it's lush greenery. This is a different kind of beautiful.

Cerise was my last shoot in Hawaii. Isn't she drop-dead gorgeous? Thanks a bunch to Ashley and Keoki Smith for lighting and set-up. Today is my mom's birthday. We haven't seen each other in 7 years, when I lost my dad in a car accident. I went out today and found a few things that remind me of her... her love of yellow, flowers (especially roses), and her unwavering faith and strength of spirit. Happy Birthday, Mom!

a second look at the cork displays (r) at Anthropologie. Did you know that corks are 100% natural, renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable? 2 million corks were used for Anthro store displays in the UK, US, and Canada in honor of upcoming Earth Day.

things I'm learning by shooting daily:

*95% of my shots are vertical.
*I still don't know how to go about shooting the front of people's homes, cars, stores. I do feel like a stalker but sometimes the subject is too good to pass up. Any tips out there? I already have a good pair of running shoes...
*I find a lot of my inspiration for color, composition, light, subject matter from Jonathan Canlas (probably where I've picked up my tendency to shoot verts instead of horzs :); sfgirlbybay/Victoria Smith (my favorite blog, you must check out her 'Sunday in the City' posts. She lives in San Francisco, enough said!); and of course my lovely friend, Alisa Greig who switched to film last year and produces the dreamiest photos. I get my Hawaii fix from her.
*Setting a goal of shooting every day has been beneficial. I get out every day (even if it's to the store) and really look at the world around me, taking notice of things I might not have otherwise looked at before. I love that about this process.

We're moved in! A happy occasion indeed. I don't think I've ever lived in a house this big before so having a lot of space is foreign to me (and honestly, I think it's pretty average-sized. I'm just used to apartment/condo living). Once our stuff from Hawaii gets here and fills out the spaces, it'll feel cozier. I love the layout but what I'm most excited about are the amount of windows -- the light is amazing throughout the day depending on which side of the house you're in. In the morning the family room and breakfast area are bathed in gorgeous eastern sunlight; makes me want to put my feet up and hang out with a good book and cup of coffee. The dining and living rooms are sun-drenched in the afternoon, and since it doesn't really get dark here until 7:30-8, it seems to last forever. Yea, all rooms are worthy of taking naps in, and I see plenty of lazy Sundays (and possibly Mondays, Tuesdays, etc) spent here. :)

My iMac is getting here in a few days and it'll feel like being reunited with a long-lost relative. Seriously, I can't believe how much I depend(ed?) on and love that thing. In the meantime, I've been uploading all my photos to Photobucket and discovered last week there was an editing feature -- how did I not know this existed? I've been with them for years and was so excited I had the ability to do some basic playing around of my images. There's even a nifty little tab named 'Geek' where I do my curves adjustments. I find joy in the small things...

White is challenging to photograph. A couple of pet peeves of mine are blowing out highlights and having a blue, or other, color cast (exposure and white balance). In my case it happens anyway -- all the time -- and that's why I stay away from weddings if I can help it. Just kidding. (although one of these days I may use that gray card I bought a long time ago).

After shooting some calla lilies and daisies this morning, I decided to go with a white theme for whatever else I came across today. So I went into a store that was 95% artificially lit to make things interesting. (p.s. I'm convinced that I'm strange for walking into a store for the sole purpose of practicing with my camera. Am I alone? I suppose I should find models to play with soon.)

I might not be able to post any dailies for a while. I'm amazed that I made it 7 straight days. Due to our move tomorrow, I expect we'll be internet-less for a few days to a week, hopefully no longer than that. We are anxiously keeping up with the news as well; the impending government shutdown is distressing to say the least, and while it'll definitely affect us (even as a student, my husband will be furloughed), I can't imagine what effect it will have on the younger military families who are starting out and depend on their paychecks.

We didn't go out much today. I've decided to homeschool for the last two months of the school year, and we dove in after the kids received their books and assignments this morning. I have my doubts (as does my husband) but at this point we have to make it work. It's only two months and I hope we enter into a routine eventually. Temporary lodging isn't exactly conducive to learning, however. Right now the kids are doing their work on the floor, bed, and small table (when there's space). My husband tries to read on the bed but the general chaos of living in one room proves to be too distracting, so sometimes he ends up at the campus library. The up side is we are moving into a house Friday morning, where each member of our family will be able to escape into any one room for peace and solitude!

Thanks to fellow blogger, Rose, a California native (and hence a great resource to newbies of this state!), I have an ever-growing list of activities and places to eat that are all within driving distance -- mini-vacations for those three-day weekends. I can't wait to satisfy the wanderlust that exists within me; to take photos, and make memories with my family.

Even though we don't have a residential address yet (read: house), one of the first things I did when we got here was applied for a library card. Then promptly checked out the entire collection of their House Beautiful, Dwell, and ReadyMade magazines (oh, and some Martha Stewart Living). :)

Other than the Kentucky Wildcats losing today to UConn in the second Final Four game (sorry, hubby), it was a fairly decent day. Colder than yesterday, so socks were necessary. The hearts were cheerful at least.

I will try to post an image or more every day because shooting is one of the few constants I have right now. And I can use this as an excuse to get out there and explore.

Today I wore my new pair of shoes, which I love. What I love more is that I didn't have to wear socks.

We're finally in our new location and living out of suitcases, for a while more. I figure one way to help feel "normal" these days is to continue to blog, internet connection and mood permitting.

I don't have my #1 creature comfort, my iMac, so everything I post until we're reunited will be phone pics or sooc (straight-out-of-camera) shots.

It's been an interesting week for the Plichta fam, and that's an understatement. You've heard of Murphy's law? It's been the adage that has described our recent life (and when I say recent, I mean the last 7 days). But nothing -- absolutely nothing -- in our lives can compare to the tragic events that have happened, and continue to happen, in Japan. I cried watching 9/11 unfold almost 10 years ago. I was affected in quite the same way last Friday as news broke of the devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunamis rocked the Japanese nation. I watched the tv in horror as images of water and debris created unnatural paths through the land, consuming everything -- farmland, roads, houses, cars... and though too far away to see, most likely people.

Hawaii experienced the scare of a possible tsunami of its own, the direct result of the 8.9 quake. That night our family huddled in our 14th floor hotel room in Waikiki, awaiting the worst, but hoping for the best. We were blessed with the latter -- at least the island of Oahu was.

Even with a lot going on in our personal lives, my thoughts shift often to the people of Japan. My husband has several friends who live in one of the areas hit by the tsunami; he met them when he taught in Japan for 3 years. Though he's lost touch with them over the years, we can only hope they are safe and sound. Many in Hawaii have close ties to Japan whether it be friends, family, or both. This hits so close to home.

There are numerous ways we can assist with the relief effort. Let's help our friends in Japan in their greatest time of need.

Christina + Keone: Expecting

I'm so happy for Christina and Keone who are expecting a little girl soon. They were wed last summer in an intimate and beautiful ceremony at Ho'omaluhia Gardens. Thanks to Alisa Greig for helping out both times!

I absolutely love this location -- it has a little of everything and an unbelievable sunset to boot. One of my favorite spots by far.

I can't believe in just a few short weeks I'll be seeing that same sunset from Waikiki during the last leg of our move to the mainland. Even as I sit in an empty house after a successful pack-out, I must be in denial (or delirious from stress and being sick) because I still don't believe it's really happening. This is one time when I don't want to be pinched.

Because I don't have any more commissioned shoots left here (just "for fun" ones, if they happen), I've been pointing my cameras at whatever is around me (and I know you're not supposed to start sentences with "because" but I can break the rules on my blog!). For the last couple of weeks I've been working on getting our place in a bit of order and ready to show for renters. At the same time (and because it's convenient when it's tidier), I thought I'd shoot some of the knick knacks around my house before they're put in boxes and on a boat towards the California coast. Several years ago when I was more into decorating than photography, I used to collect magazines such as Domino and Inspired House and Blueprint -- all of which have folded under in recent years (much to my dismay). Now before I continue, when I say I was into decorating I mean I was constantly looking at decorating sites, books, catalogs, and magazines, not to mention having HGTV on 24/7... not actually decorating. No, for one it's expensive. Two, my house would look like a tornado blew through it with the mishmash of objects that I have... mixed in with the toys that comes with having 3 kids. While I would like to describe my taste as 'eclectic' right now it's more 'semi-organized junk.' I'm working on it because I'm not really sure what my style is. I like too many things. See? Eclectic.

It's such a joy going back to my magazines and books because now I can be inspired for our next place -- whatever it may be. I'm looking forward to weekend trips into San Francisco and taking in the sights to feed my photography, and shops to fill my house. I figure that I have to find the positives in moving from paradise and dear friends (who have promised to visit), and this would be one of them... dreaming up what I can do with our next -- albeit, temporary -- pad. We have a small budget for some new pieces (IKEA, here I come!) and I've never been more excited. Perhaps in the next post I'll share some of the blogs I've been visiting for inspiration. Do you have any you can recommend?

While we're on the topic of home decor, these are from the Honolulu Design Center during downtime shooting the Mrs. Hawaii International 2011 contestants. Lots of pretty furniture, of which most were not in my price range.

During the Chinese New Year celebration. Thanks to my bud Alisa Greig for inviting me to my first, and last (sniff), in Hawaii. We were both on food restrictions at the time so it was semi-torture walking down each street -- there were tons of booths with mostly tasty-looking food and pleasing aromas (though at some booths, we could not identify what was cooking). In the end, we survived and lived to tell, err... show, pictures. Alas, no real photos of any dances -- we're too short and Alisa refused to let me sit up on her shoulders for a better view. ;)

I am excited looking at these photos... one because I love planes and airshows, and two this particular plane below (the P-3) reminds me of my dear husband who will be coming home very soon! For those who don't know, he has been away from his home and his family for more than a year, and we finally get to have him back. Finally.

For as long as I remember, I've always been a fixture at airshows (just scroll to the end). Last September I got a media pass and rented a telephoto lens for Blues Over the Bay. It was just as I remember as a kid, maybe even better now that I can take my own three.

Meet the photogenic and fabulously dressed Z Family. Mrs. Z wrote to me saying she loves color so while their wardrobe was primarily neutral for this shoot, the reds add that pop to the photos. I love Mrs. Z's style so much that I'm hoping to work with one of her kids again before I move... I'd take any of them, they're so adorable!

I'm a little late in blogging this shoot and one of the reasons is because I shot both digital and film, which is turning out to be a win-win situation for an indecisive person such as myself. I like the ease and instant gratification of digital, yet love the look of film and the process of capturing on an analog camera. It's been fun experimenting and it honestly feels like Christmas morning when you get your film back and on top of that, you're in love with what you see. This hasn't happened to me as much as I'd like but I'm working on it.

Anyway, I waited to send my medium format rolls to an off-island lab and I finally received the results last week. There are a few more images to post but for now, here are most of the ones inspired by our lucky find -- a blue VW van in good, working condition. Thanks to Laura for the collaboration (and title), and her neighbor Jose for allowing us use of his van.

I have one more story for MSM this month and that's it for the time being. I have nothing else lined up because I'm moving on -- literally! To a new state and new beginnings... apropos for a new year, right? Not sure yet whether I'll pursue any sort of print work for a while in my new location because as my own worst critic (what artist isn't?) there's a lot of evaluation of self and improvement in my work that needs to happen. In my typical style of procrastinating I've also not yet considered the things I want for 2011 -- except for my husband to come home, of course!

Sarah and Kevin were married on what was probably the most popular wedding date this year: 10-10-10! My third full editorial for Military Spouse Magazine was recently published. The November issue is on newsstands now. This was a big endeavor as we shot at the Pacific Aviation Museum on a day they were open to the public. Many thanks to the Museum and to everyone who took part! I'll post credits and the entire spread once the issue is no longer out.

Look out for the next couple of issues of Real Word. Magazine as well. They are throwing a unique event on December 4th called Spread the Word that is sure to be AMAZING.

A Cake Life

I did a fun shoot recently at a commercial kitchen in Kalihi, documenting a typical day in the life of Kristin Kato. Kristin is the owner of A Cake Life, a bakery that churns out scrumptious custom-made cakes for all occasions including weddings, graduations, and birthdays. Kristin is super sweet, professional, and has an incredible knack for designing and creating some of the most original cakes I've seen (check out the 'Twilight' and Louis Vuitton 'bag' cakes in the cakefolio section of her blog).

A recently discovered perk of being a photographer-for-hire -- at times you are called upon to shoot events and it just so happens there's cake! And if you're lucky, you get to try a piece :) I've been fortunate to have had Kristin's cupcakes at several different events and I have to say that the strawberry-creme filled ones are my personal favorite. Kristin graciously donated the cupcakes for the feature I shot for Military Spouse Magazine, and we are working together again in the fall for a wedding. I can't wait to see -- and maaaybe taste -- what she comes up with!

Kualoa Ranch, Part 2

A post only my mom, mother-in-law and LOST fans would be interested in... the former two because the grandkids are in some of the photos, the latter because there are locations from the show that I shot that were filmed on the property. The kids and I took the tour back in May... the 23rd to be exact. A day to remember for all Losties because it was the series finale. (sob)

Kualoa Ranch is an amazing, beautiful, vast property. In addition to movie tours, there are opportunities to ride horseback and ATV, shoot at the gun range, and get married. :) In fact, I'm shooting a wedding there in October. The ranch was incredibly breathtaking even with gloomy, overcast skies above on this particular day.

Taken with my new baby, a Contax 645. "He" accompanied me on a trip to the Middle East, and on this, a special LOST tour at Kualoa Ranch (more pics -- of the digital variety -- to come of the tour). The best part? No Photoshop. How freeing.

I'm excited to announce my first ever cover and feature (an 8-page spread), for Military Spouse Magazine, of which I have been a dedicated reader since it first hit newsstands several years ago. So happy I decided to tag along on Cheyenne's shoot with my friend, Laura (MUA and photographer extraordinaire). I love when the subject is inspiring as Cheyenne was. Summer's totally on my mind. Can you tell? School's out and I'm ready to chauffeur the kids to swim lessons, beach, and wherever else they drag me on possibly our last summer here.
